219 Rescue 1

219 Rescue 1 is a 2000 Pierce Saber with seating for six personnel. 219 Rescue 1 is a Pennsylvania Department of Health Certified Quick Response Service (Basic Life Support) Unit and an  Advanced Level Certified Rescue Company. Rescue 1 is first-out for all extrications, technical rescue, QRS, and hazmat calls. 219 Rescue 1 carries (2) 30 min 4500 MSA SCBA packs and (2) 1 hour 4500 MSA SCBA packs and spare cylinders as well as on on-board cascade system for refilling cylinders and supplying air for air tools and six Maxiforce air bags. 219 Rescue 1 is equipped with eight Hurst hydraulic rescue tools with the quick-disconnect 1/4 turn locking couplings, four of the tools being pre-connected. Two pre-connected tools are set up on each side of the rescue, so that if needed, the rescue can work on two vehicle extrications at the same time and also for speed of access of equipment. In addition, the rescue is equipped with a full spectrum of equipment for technical rescues such as: rope, trench, confined space, and structural collapse. The newest pieces of equipment on the rescue are Paratech Air Shores for trench rescues, structural collapses and vehicle stabilizations. 219 Rescue 1 is one of three vehicles on the county CAD 219 Technical Rescue Team. 219 Rescue 1 meets and exceeds requirements for PA Dept. of Health VRSR-Advanced Rescue Certification.
