    219 Truck

219 Truck is a 2004 PierceDash Sky Arm with an articulating 100' steel ladder.  The Truck is equipped with a Waterous 2000 gpm pump, 115' of ground ladders, 700' of 5" supply hose as well as numerous saws, hooks, forcible entry tools, Five SCBA packs w/ 7 spare cylinders, fans and other associated truck equipment.  219 Truck is first due for all commercial structure and large residential structure assignments. 219 Truck is also a special response vehicle on the county CAD Technical Rescue Team 219.

 General Functions of a Truck Company

Search and Rescue (both residents/victims as well as injured/trapped firefighters

Ventilation (cutting holes in the roof to release heat and smoke)

Laddering (for access and also rescues)

Forcible Entry (gaining access by forcing doors/windows, removing bars, gates, etc.)

Checking for Fire Extension (by opening up walls, ceilings, attics and floors)

Lighting (for fire scene operations)

Ladder-pipe operation (elevated master streams providing large water flows)

Utility Control (shutting off the electric, gas and water to prevent injury and damage)

Salvage (protecting property from fire, smoke or water)

Overhaul (ensuring the fire is completely extinguished to prevent rekindles)
